UNLTD Boardshop is a small, family owned business operating in the Bow Valley since 1995 – and we’re just getting warmed up! We provide high quality goods from top industry brands with a “different attitude”. We know that boardshops can be intimidating, but we want everyone, at every ability, to feel welcome at our stores. We’re proud of the positivity & inclusion our team has built over the last 29 years outfitting snowboarders & skateboarders. We take pride in what we sell, carefully hand selecting items for every season. Taking plenty of time to learn about our products, our team is ready to answer your questions and help find the perfect gear for you.
UNLTD believes in providing great service, great products and great knowledge! We love meeting new people from all over the world. We hope to leave a lasting impression on locals + travellers alike, as the boardshop that elevated their time in the Canadian Rockies.
OG Roots of UNLTD Boardshop
Monod Sports Ltd. opened the original UNLTD Boardshop in the downtown Banff landmark “Harmony Lane” in 1995. In 2000, Dave Carlson became the general manager of the shop, while studying for a career in accounting. In 2001, he moved the shop to its current location at 319 Banff Avenue. Shortly after the move, Dave and his wife Jennifer started their family AND became the owners of UNLTD. Dave wore many hats during this time, juggling the ABC’s of advertising, accounting, buying AND cleaning washrooms. Although he no longer multitasks the day to day operations, Dave cheers us on, makes work fun for everyone and keeps us laughing with dad jokes.

UNLTD Boardshop has 25 staff between our Banff + Canmore locations. We are an eclectic mix of creative and talented people from all over the world. Living in the Bow Valley is a dream and we take full advantage of the mountains in our backyard. What links us all together is our shared passion for snowboarding, so we make it a priority to get out for staff ride days as often as we can. We wholeheartedly believe that there’s room for everyone in snowboarding & aim to foster an inclusive, safe environment at our shops & on the mountain. We feel like family here at UNLTD, sharing many laughs & truly enjoying the work we do.
UNLTD Boardshop supports an array of snow & skate athletes. We help our athletes build connections in the industry, assist with gear + contest fees, and share their achievements with our social audience. We love supporting the legends of tomorrow and watching all the places their sport takes them!

Our Banff location is home to all of our snowboard hardgoods in the winter, skateboard gear in the summer and plenty of lifestyle clothing & mountain essentials year round. This address has been home to many beloved businesses over the years, including The Rundle Restaurant in the 60’s. After several add-ons & updates, some of that original charm remains, what was once a meat locker is now a storage area for back-stock! Our Banff shop is always bustling with staff connecting locals and tourists to any gear they might need.
In 2008, we opened our second shop in the heart of downtown Canmore. 25 minutes east of Banff our Canmore location boasts an incredible selection of apparel, outerwear & skateboard gear in the summer months. This location reflects the nature of Canmore, with a more laidback and relaxed vibe. If you’ve watched The Last of Us you can spot our Canmore storefront disguised as a Jackson Hole business in episode 6.
